It feels as though June and July passed in the blink of an eye. If you feel like you missed out on summer fun, or are still looking for something entertaining to do in the Triangle, you are in luck.
One draw of the area is its several indoor and outdoor performance venues. Both PNC Arena, and Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek are hosting musical events of all types before summer is out and even into the fall.
If you’re looking for something to do with the kids before sending them back to school, Universoul Circus may be an option for you! For the majority of August (from August 9th– 20th), PNC Arena in Raleigh is hosting the Universoul Circus. There are both morning/afternoon and evening performances that families of all types will enjoy. This is not your “traditional” circus, and their website directly say that, “UniverSoul connects with progressive, upwardly mobile, urban pop cultures from around the world. It embraces and celebrates the unique and familiar aspects of global cultures and ethnicities into a stellar production that blends circus arts, theater and music.” There are videos and information on their website that highlight their lively entertaining performances!
By September, PNC will host musical performer Ed Sheeran and then the Capital City Music Festival featuring Tyrese. Of course, fall brings the beginning of Carolina Hurricanes Preseason, and new lineup of entertainement!
I’ll admit, I’m sucker for an amphitheater, and have personally enjoyed many shows at what is now Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek. I have a very eclectic musical taste and have seen everyone from Country’s Toby Keith to Dave Matthews Band at this particular venue. The experience on lawn seats is what summer is all about, picnic blankets and warm summer air, while enjoying a cold beer, good friends, and good music.
Their end of summer line-up includes big-name musical performing artists Foreigner, Hank Williams Jr. with Lynyrd Skynryd, John Mayer, Luke Bryan, Matchbox Twenty and County Crows, Green Day, Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, Jack Johnson, and Zac Brown Band.
Basically, living in the Triangle provides a world of entertainment options, from sporting events, parks, night life, and performance venues, there’s something for every taste and style of enjoyment available. Grab the kids, your partner, or a friend, and enjoy the last few weeks of the summer atmosphere before it’s gone for another year!
